Sheikh Yassir Qassim

Masjid Al-Ittehad is blessed to have Sk. Yassir Qassim as the full time Imam. Sk. Qassim was born in Mansoura, Eqypt and memorized the Quran at the age of ten (10). He then joined Al-Azhar University and proceeded to completing his education in religious sciences. He eventually obtained a bachelor degree in Islamic Studies in 1998 from Al-Azhar University. In addition to being a Hafez of the Quran, Sk. Qassim is well aversed in the details of the four Madhabs  (four schools of Thought) fiqh of worship, hadith of the Prophet Mohammed (saws), tasfeer of the Quran and history of Islam. 

Sk. Qassim is also an exceptional teacher of Islamic Studies and the Arabic Language.

Sk. Qassim has resided in the US for the last ten (10) years and has held various positions including imam, visiting imam, teacher, etc. at various Masjids and Islamic Centers throughout the US. Al Masjid Al-Ittehad, Sk. Qassim's responsiblities include leading the five daily prayers, presenting kutba on Fridays, teaching Arabic Learing and Quran Recitation classes, holding office hours to provide islamic consultation to the community, leading Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan month and organizing community and youth activities. 

Sk. Qassim is also well experienced in working with the community youth. He plays a key role in teaching and providing guidance to the youth. Imam Sk. Qassim is married and has three beautiful children. His hobbies include soccer and hiking. He is also a talented table tennis player and will challege anyone to a good game of table tennis.
